The quartet received its third Composers Commission Project grant through the American Composers Forum (ACF) in 2009 for a new work for saxophone and electronics by Jeff Herriott.  Other commissioned composers through ACF have included Jennifer Higdon. An advocate for contemporary music performance, the quartet has played on the Society of Composers Inc. conferences, the Sonict New Music Series, Music from Almost Yesterday (Milwaukee, WI), and the YoungNam Composers Association (Daegu, Korea).

Ancia has presented concerts/masterclasses at the International Saxophone Masterclass with Eugene Rouseau, the Art of Music Summer Series (NY), the Brookings Chamber Music Society (SD), the Wisconsin Music Educators Association Conference (Madison), and numerous university and community concert series. The quartet has performed at

regional, national, and international saxophone conferences in Montreal, Iowa City, Chicago, Winnipeg, Florida, and Minneapolis. The quartet has collaborated with the Berlin Saxophone Quartet, including quartet and octet performances at "Klangfenster '95" in Berlin, Germany.

This upcoming year, Ancia will be performing at UW-Stevens Point, Sunday Afternoon from the Chazen (live radio concert from Madison, WI), Music in the Park Family Series (St. Paul, MN), the Weisman Art Museum (Minneapolis), and with the Wayzata Symphony Orchestra playing the Philip Glass Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Orchestra.  The recent awarding of a grant through the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council will produce two more concerts at the MacPhail Center for Music and Century College.
